Taking into account that there was great interest in the article writing competition aimed at the promotion of the contribution of economic and institutional reforms, implemented with the efforts and the initiatives of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and the foundation of which had been laid during his time in office, to the economic and institutional development of Azerbaijan, and of the study of the current social and economic course of our country, the Competition Commission decided to select 8 winners as opposed to previously announced 4.
In connection with the 100 year anniversary of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev with the executive order of the President Ilham Aliyev dated 29th of September 2022, 2023 was declared in Azerbaijan as “The Heydar Aliyev’s Year”. In connection with that as part of the Actions Plan approved by the Ministry of Economy nationwide and international scientific and practical article writing competition titled “A state with a strong economy is capable of anything” announced by the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) came to an end.
Around 80 articles from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kuwait, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkiye, Turkmenistan and Ukraine were submitted to the competition.
The articles were evaluated by the Competition Commission made from the ESRI and the UNEC representatives.
Taking into account that there was great interest in the article writing competition aimed at the promotion of the contribution of economic and institutional reforms, implemented with the efforts and the initiatives of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and the foundation of which had been laid during his time in office, to the economic and institutional development of Azerbaijan, and of the study of the current social and economic course of our country and given the fact that the number of submitted articles was higher than expected and many candidates received high scores based on the evaluation criteria, the Competition Commission decided to select 8 winners.
Below are the names of the authors who won in the competition:
Mahammad Samadov, Dr. Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan, Dr. Haila Al-Mekaimi, Oleq Leshenyuk, Ruslan Shevchenko, Dr. Dogacan Basaran, Muhammad Zaman, Khalid Taimur.
It should be noted that the winners represent Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kuwait, Moldova, Pakistan and Türkiye.
As it was noted in the announcement, the articles selected by the Competition Commission will be published in the next issues of the ESRI journal and the ECO Economic Journal where the ESRI serves as the editor-in chief.
During the hybrid event to be scheduled to take place on July 19th at the ESRI premises it is envisaged to present the winners to the public.
