By the order of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan has approved the implementation of the Action Plan for the organization of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol and the 6th Conference of the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement. According to the Action Plan, the conference “Next Generation Economics: Challenges and Perspectives” will be held within the framework of the 3rd ECO Think-Tank Forum organized by the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI).
The conference, scheduled for October 4, 2024, also marks the ESRI’s 60th anniversary. On this occasion, the ESRI’s journal "Collection of Scientific Works on the Peculiarities and Problems of Realizing Economic Reforms in Azerbaijan: Special Edition”, 9th issue of ECO Economic journal (EEJ) edited by the ESRI, conference materials dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Institute, “Scientific Path of the Institute-60 (Selected Articles)”, and other publications will be prepared and presented during the conference.
At the conference, novel approaches to economic thought, strategies for ensuring sustainable economic growth, the integration of environmental issues into economic decision-making, the significance of education in next-generation economics, the impact of digital technologies on economic dynamics and the key issues confronting next-generation economists will be discussed.
