During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on possible areas of cooperation between the two countries.
A meeting with representatives of leading think tanks of Uzbekistan was held at the Economic Scientific Research Institute (the ESRI).
The International Institute for Central Asian Studies of Uzbekistan, Information and Analytical Center for International Relations under the MFA of Uzbekistan, Center for Economic Research and Reform under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for the Study of Problems of Transport and Logistics Development under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan were represented at the meeting.
Chairman of the Board of the ESRI, Mahir Humbatov, welcomed the delegation of Uzbekistan and reminded them about the last visit of the ESRI employees to Uzbekistan, the public lectures held during the visit, the negotiations and the results achieved.
Sherzod Fayziev, Head of the Delegation of Uzbekistan, Deputy Director of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies, informed about the international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of nation-wide leader Heydar Aliyev and presented the collection of materials from that conference to Mr. Humbatov.
During the meeting, various speeches were made with a presentation reflecting the similar and different indicators of the economies of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in several fields, investments between the two countries, energy policies and other vital statistics prepared by the ESRI employees, and questions asked by representatives of Uzbek think tanks were answered.
Later, the parties exchanged views on possible areas of cooperation between the two countries.
