The delegation led by the First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev participated in the events in Istanbul as part of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) from the 13th to the 15th of September. On September 13th, 2023, the 14th Working Group on Economic Cooperation of the Organization of Turkic States took place. Leading Research Fellow of Quality Control and Planning Department of the Economic Scientific Research Institute (The ESRI) Shukur Guliyev represented Azerbaijan at the event and took part in the discussion of the issues on the agenda. He outlined his views from the perspective of Azerbaijan in relation to the other countries in respect to the foundation protocol of the Turkic Network of Official Economic Policy Research Centers (ERCNET) which deals with the economic cooperation and integration in the Turkic world, and the concept of proposals of new research centre.
On the 14th of September, 2023, the 12th meeting of the Ministers in Charge of Economy and Trade of the Organization of Turkic States took place.
First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev underlined that the common history, culture and values and the organizations where our countries are represented, in particular the OTS, play an important role in the development of relations between Turkic states. Saying that the partnership between Azerbaijan and member countries is expanding in the economic and trade fields as it is the case with other areas, E. Aliyev noted that over the past period initiatives to strengthen cooperation in transport-transit, digitalization, investments and other fields were on the rise.
The Turkic World Business Forum was held on the same day. Delivering his opening remarks Minister of Trade of Turkiye Omer Bolat said that relations and cooperation within the framework of the OTS based on the common history, culture, friendship and brotherhood were developing and continuing day by day. He also accentuated that the OTS with its vision, projects and activities had already transformed into a significant power centre.
Delivering a speech at the event E. Aliyev stressed the importance of joint action of Turkic states in the resolution of challenges in the global world. He stated that the joint initiatives in the energy sector had significantly reshaped the regional and global energy outlook.
E. Aliyev also noted that cooperation and joint investments undertaken by the Turkic states actively impact the transport and trade dynamics of the region and within this context the economic effectiveness of the Zangezur Corridor is undoubtable.
The Forum continued its work with the back-to-back meetings with the participation of business circles.
