ESRI representatives met with senior management of the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views in regard to the implementation of a project envisaged to be jointly implemented by ESRI and AZSTAND.

On October 25th, 2023, a meeting between representatives of the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) and senior management of Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND) took place.

During the meeting, ESRI was represented by Arzu Huseynova, the First Deputy Chair of the Board; Elsevar Latifli, Senior Research Fellow of the Department for the Analysis of Economic Development Policy; Farida Mehralizada, Junior Research Fellow of the Quality Control and Planning Department; Afraim Mammadov, Junior Research Fellow of the Department for the Analysis of Macroeconomic Policy; and Habiba Jabbarova, Junior Research Fellow of the Department for the Analysis of Economic Development Policy.

From the side of AZSTAND, the meeting was attended by the director-general, Ilham Bayramov, deputy-director, Kamala Mammadzade, director of the Department for Certification of Management Systems and Personnel, Saday Aliyev and director of the Translation and Publications Department Vusala Jafarova.

In the course of the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current problems, local and international experience, gaps in the databases and legislation on standardization, and the impacts of the application of standards on the economy on meso, micro, and macro levels.  Also, they underlined the necessity to create national standards and determine and eliminate the difficulties that stand in the way. 

During the meeting, the importance of the close support to be rendered by the State Service for Anti-Monopoly Control and Supervision of Consumer Market for the implementation of joint activities by ESRI and AZSTAND was underlined.

Additionally, the parties exchanged views regarding the implementation of the project envisaged to be jointly implemented by ESRI and AZSTAND. They also discussed the possibility of continuing cooperation in the future.
