From 30th November to 1st December 2023 the “InMerge” Innovation Summit took place at Baku Congress Centre,
Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Economic Policy of the Presidential Administration, Shahmar Movsumov, First Deputy Minister of Economy Elnur Aliyev, Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, Director of Turkish “Trendyol Group” of companies, Erdem Inan, as well as one of the founders of “Apple” Steve Wozniak delivered opening remarks.
Economic Scientific Research Institute (The ESRI) was represented at the summit by first deputy chair of the board, Arzu Huseynova, senior research fellow of the Department for the Analysis of Digitalization, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Policy, Emin Amrahov, junior research fellow of the same department, Karim Hajiyev, specialists of Finance, Supplies and Work with Documentation Department, Aydan Akhundova, Izzat Salmanova and Anvar Hajiyev, junior research fellows of the Department for the Analysis of Economic Development Policy Gulnar Aliyeva and Habiba Jafarova and administrative assistant Elvina Khanishova.
On the sidelines of the InMerge Innovation Summit, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation for the development of innovation and start-up ecosystem in the Republic of Azerbaijan was signed by the Centre for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution under the Ministry of Economy (4SIM), Education Development Fund under the Ministry of Science and Education, Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, SOCAR and “Pasha Holding”.
It should be noted that the above-mentioned summit has been held in our country for the third time. The goal of the summit is to bring together the leading global technology companies, start-ups and innovators and stimulate the development in the field of innovation technologies in our country.
