On December 25, 2023, a workshop on "Unlocking the Potential of Digital Trade and Investment in Turkic Economies" was held in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, organized by the Turkic Academy and the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States.
The purpose of the workshop was to discuss digital trade opportunities in the economy of Turkic states, as well as opportunities and challenges related to investment, and the main focus was on the use of digital technologies to increase economic development, trade relations and digital investment prospects.
the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliyev made an opening speech at the workshop.
Speaking later, President of the International Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev emphasized the importance of cooperation between Turkic states in the fields of digital trade and digital investment.
Within the framework of the workshop, ESRI representatives met with Kubanichbek Omuraliyev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Ruslan Sultanov, Chairman of the Board of the Economic Research Institute (ERI) of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mustafa Demir, an expert on industry and technology of the Ministry of Industry and Technology of Turkey.
The presentation of the book "Report on Turkic Economies 2023: Digital Trade and Investment" of which the chapter relatad to Azerbaijan written by Vugar Abbasov, Research Fellow of Local and International Cooperation Department of the ESRI, and Afraim Mammadov, Research Fellow of Macroeconomic Policy Analysis Department of the ESRI, was presented in the workshop.
In the workshop, Shukur Guliyev, the Leading Research Fellow of Quality Control and Planning Department of the ESRI, spoke on the panel entitled "Digital Trade and Investment: Case Studies and Best Practices from Turkic Economies".
