On November 27th, 2023 Economic Scientific Research Institute (The ESRI) conducted an international conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev titled “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan’s Economy.”
In the introductory part, a one-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev.
Delivering his opening remarks Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Sahib Alekberov underlined Heydar Aliyev’s resolve, hard work, and high intellect played an important role in Azerbaijan’s claiming its worthy place among the world states. Mr. Alekberov noted that during Heydar Aliyev’s time in office, the foundation of great economic transformations had been laid.
Touching also on the nationwide and international scientific and practical article writing competition organized by the ESRI and titled “A state with a strong economy is capable of everything” Sahib Alekberov added that the competition mentioned above played an exceptional role in terms of study of Heydar Aliyev’s heritage beyond our borders.
Politician and statesman Hasan Hasanov, Deputy of the Milli Majlis Ziyad Samadzade, Rector of Azerbaijan State Economics University (UNEC) Adalat Muradov, former minister of education during Heydar Aliyev’s time in office, chief director of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Misir Mardanov and BP vice president for the Caspian Region, Communications and External Affairs Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli featuring as special guests in the panel session titled “ Heydar Aliyev - Live Memories and Economic Strategy” shared their impressions about the genius personality and touched on the successful economic strategy laid by him.
Speaking during the event Chairman of the Board of Directors ESRI Mahir Humbatov provided information about the new international journal established by the ESRI and titled “Journal of Strategic Economic Thought” (JSET). He noted that the first issue of this journal would feature the materials specifically selected from the submissions to the nationwide and international scientific and practical article writing competition titled “A state with a strong economy is capable of everything”.
Afterward the winners of the nationwide and international scientific and practical article writing competition conducted by the ESRI Mahammad Samadov (Azerbaijan), Oleg Leshenyuk (Belarus), Haila Almekaimi (Kuwait), Ruslan Shevchenko (Moldova), Khalid Taimur Akram (Pakistan), Muhammad Zaman (Pakistan), Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan (Pakistan) and Dogacan Basharana (Turkiye) were given the floor.
Ultimately, the winners were awarded and a commemorative picture was taken.
