On the 24th of November, with the support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Agency for Educational Development and with the organization of "Bir Könüllü" Student Cooperation Public Union, the opening ceremony of the International Student Forum on Youth, Peace and Security took place.
50 students studying in different pillars of higher education and specializing in international relations, international law, diplomacy, political science, public policy, and regional studies participated in the forum. 10 out of 50 students were Azerbaijanis and the remaining 40 students were from 30 different countries of the world.
The first panel discussion of the opening day of the forum was titled Post-conflict recovery: Economic Reconstruction, Peacebuilding and Reconciliation. A research fellow from the Department of Local and International Cooperation, Shukur Guliyev, participated in the panel discussions. His speech was focused on the government's approach to economic reconstruction and the restoration process during the post-war period. In his speech, he dwelt on the government's future vision concept for the reconstruction and restoration of the territories liberated from the occupation and the work implemented so far in these very territories. Other participants of the panel discussion featured Guido Ambroso, representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Azerbaijan, Anar Valiyev, associate professor, dean at ADA University, and Farid Guliyev, head of the Department of Political Science at Khazar University.
After the speeches, questions of participants were answered.
