Representative of the ESRI participated in an international conference on regional cooperation

   

The Head of the Foreign Economic Relations Department of the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI), Sabina Mammadli, participated in the regional conference titled "Socioeconomic Impact of External Shocks on the Economies of the Caucasus and Central" organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on January 17, 2025, in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

During the conference, the impact of external shocks from 2021–2024 on the countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus was extensively discussed. Topics included the effects of these shocks on international commodity prices, trade in goods and services, transit flows, labor markets, and financial flows, as well as their transmission channels and the responses of the affected countries. The findings of an ADB study on these issues were shared with the participants.

S. Mammadli also engaged in productive discussions with a professor from Kazakhstan's KIMEP University and a representative of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) during the conference, exploring avenues for future collaboration and fostering professional connections.
