On May 17-19, 2022, a seminar on "Supporting the use of population statistics methodology" was held by the Eurostat General Directorate of the European Commission in an online format. Representatives of the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Research, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, the National Bureau of Statistics of the Republic of Moldova, the National Statistics Office of Georgia, the National Statistics Service of the Republic of Armenia, the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine and others participated in the event, which lasted for three days.

Elsever Latifli, the chief specialist of the Department of Economic Modeling and Analytical Analysis of the Economic Scientific Research Institute featured during the session dedicated to Azerbaijan. In his speech, he noticed the importance of population forecasting results for economic development planning and provided extensive information about the main sources of population forecasting in Azerbaijan, the methodology used, and the population census.
