On 12th December, 2022, a commemorative event was held at the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) to mark the nineteenth anniversary of the death of Heydar Aliyev, the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan and an outstanding politician and statesman.

Before the event, the management and staff of the Institute laid flowers in front of the bust of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, paying tribute to the dear and brilliant memory of the great leader.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Mahir Humbatov, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Economic Research Institute, opened the event with his opening remarks and pointed out that 19 years had passed since the death of Heydar Aliyev and that the memory of the Great Leader will always live on in the hearts of all Azerbaijanis and his life set an example for everyone. In his speech, he stressed that Heydar Aliyev was a great politician with a global mindset and great vision and that thanks to the successful steps taken by Azerbaijan on the road to democracy and independence during his time in office, the comprehensive development of the country was ensured under his leadership.

At the end of the event, a documentary "Heydar Aliyev – Genius" was demonstrated at the ESRI.
