On October 20, 2022, an employee of the Department of Sectoral Analysis of the Economy of the ESRI Emil Gasimov participated in the scientific conference titled "Current Problems of Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan" with the joint organization of Sumgayit State University (SSU) and the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy of the National Assembly, Musa Guliyev, the Chairman of the Committee on Agrarian Policy of the National Assembly, Tahir Rzayev, the Chairman of the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vahid Novruzov and renowned economic scientists from numerous institutions of higher education of our republic participated in the conference.
Chancellor of the SSU Elkhan Huseynov welcomed the guests with his opening remarks and stressed that he was very glad to see them at the university. Elkhan Huseynov noted that thanks to the attention and care of the head of state, Ilham Aliyev, SSU became a reputable scientific-educational center both in the country and the region. SSU signed bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements with many prestigious universities of our republic and the world.
Then, the speakers who took the floor talked about the contributions of SSU to the development of our education system. They stressed the undeniable role of SSU in providing highly qualified and knowledgeable personnel for various companies operating in our country and in the city of Sumgayit.
As a result of the successful continuation of the socio-economic development strategy, the foundation of which had been laid by the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, since 2003 under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, many achievements and important results have been made on the path of socio-economic development.
The secretary in charge of the conference, head of the Department of Business Organisation and Management, Galib Huseynov, informed the organizing committee that 165 reports and dissertations had been received from 33 scientific and higher education institutions of our republic. 149 reports and dissertations were selected by the program committee and included in the conference agenda following their verification with anti-plagiarism software.
The scientific conference continued its work in 4 sections for two days.
