A meeting for the development of a unified position on behalf of the ministry to implement the task of "Revision of the maintenance of statistics on non-oil/gas exports and application of a unified methodology" determined with article 1 of the Activity Direction of the relevant Action Plan on the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026" was held on the 14th of November 2022 at the Baku Business Centre.

 President of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Yusif Abdullayev, declared the meeting open and informed the participants about the work done in this field. He mentioned that there were several problems in the statistical analysis of exports and imports that affected the growth of the figures, which led to misconceptions in the preparation of forecasts. Noting the importance of the clarification in the export of services, in particular, he noted the necessity to work out repeatedly a methodology in this field.

 Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Sectoral Analysis of the Economy Emil Gasimov, Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Macroeconomic Policy Analysis Farhad Mikayilov from the ESRI represented the Institute at the meeting. Representatives from the Economic Policy, Trade Policy and WTO, the Economic Statistics, the Macroeconomic Forecasting departments of the Ministry of Economy, the State Statistics Committee, the State Customs Committee, and the Central Bank also attended the meeting.
