Meeting of the editorial board of “Eco” Economic journal of Economic Cooperation Organization where ESRI serves as the editor-in-chief

On June 21, 2022, a preliminary preparatory virtual meeting was held  with the editorial board of the "Economy" journal of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) where the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI) serves as the editor-in-chief took place. Issues regarding ESRI currently serving as the editor-in-chief of the "Economy" journal of ECO, the editor-in-chief policy of the journal, the format of submission articles and expedition of this process, as well as holding the 6th meeting of the journal were discussed.

Representatives from five ECO member countries and the ECO secretariat participated in the meeting. Jandos Asanov, Deputy Secretary-General of ECO declared the meeting open and gave the floor to Arzu Huseynova, editor-in-chief of the "Economy" journal, to conduct the discussions. In her presentation, the editor-in-chief emphasized the main work to be done by the editorial board and noted that relevant technical and organizational work related to the preparation of the journal is carried out by ESRI. Issues of preparation and printing of a new issue of the journal, terms of submission of articles to the journal, requirements for the design of the articles and determination of rules for authors, development of a database of external reviewers, and other issues were discussed at the meeting. Towards that end, relevant documents related to the improvement of the journal's quality and adaptation of requirements for articles to the requirements of international indexing bases, including a draft document related to the financing of the journal's activity by ECO, were prepared by ESRI and presented to the participants in order to receive feedback before the meeting.

Vildan Baran, the representative of the Republic of Türkiye stated that the relevant documents were drawn up in detail and suggested that the opinions be submitted via e-mail in order to become well-familiarized with the documents. A decision was made to send the opinions and proposals on these documents in working order. It was also requested submit the articles to be published in the journal in a format meeting the relevant requirements. It is planned to hold the next meeting of the editorial board on a date before the ECO Ministerial Conference and to print the journal accordingly.
