On the 23rd of December 2022, the Ministry of Economy held the first meeting of the working group on the Development of the Digital Economy Strategy in order to develop Digital Economy Strategy and provide for the effective coordination of the activities to ensure the development in this area based on the Action Plan of “The Social and Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026” approved by the executive order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 22nd of July, 2022.
Delegations from the Ministry of Economy, the Central Bank, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the State Service of Special Communication and Information Security, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan attended the meeting held in an online format.
During the meeting, the First Deputy Minister of Economy, head of the working group Elnur Aliyev emphasized the importance of the Digital Economy Strategy in his opening remarks.
Center for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution which serves as the secretariat for the Working Group, provided information on the working group's future plans and made a presentation on the preparation of the Strategy. The presentation dwelt on the work to be done, identification of risks, international experience, and other issues
Member of the working group, the First Deputy Director of the Board of Directors of the Economic Scientific Research Institute (ESRI), doctor of economic sciences, professor Arzu Huseynova and Senior Research Fellow of the Department of Science and Education of the ESRI, Tarana Salifova represented the ESRI at the meeting.
At the end, the proposals of the working group members were heard and the discussions were held.
