Leading Research Fellow of the Department of Local and International Cooperation, Natig Madatov and Research Fellow of the same department of the ESRI Shukur Guliyev met with the ECO secretariat while visiting Tehran, the Islamic Republic of Iran, to participate in the 33rd meeting of the Regional Planning Council of the ECO.
The ESRI representatives had separate meeting with the ECO Secretary-General Ambassador Khusrav Noziri and Deputy Secretary-General Jandos Asanov. Secretary-General Khusrav Noziri expressed his satisfaction with meeting the ESRI representatives and underlined the importance of Azerbaijan’s new the ECO chairmanship. Amb. Noziri was informed about the importance attached by the ESRI to the activities implemented within the framework of the ECO, in particular he was briefed about the activities related to the ECO Economic Journal and the establishment of the ECO Research Centre.
Since Mr. Asanov closely attended the meeting of the Editorial Board of the ECO Economic Journal the main part of the meeting held with him was devoted to issues in connection with the journal and the next steps to be taken. He expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the ESRI is so actively working on the ECO Economic Journal. At the same time, Mr. Asanov extended his congratulations to the ESRI representatives with Azerbaijan’s new chairmanship of the ECO and wished all the best to our country in this responsible period.
