Ministry of Economy held a conference on the topic “Heydar Aliyev’s Role in the Implementation of the UN Development Initiatives in Azerbaijan”.

A conference on the topic “Heydar Aliyev’s Role in the Implementation of the UN Development Initiatives in Azerbaijan” dedicated to 100-year anniversary of the nationwide leader of the people of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev took place in the Ministry of Economy.

First Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors of the ESRI, doctor of economic sciences, Arzu Huseynova and Leading Research Fellow of the Department of Quality Control and Planning, Shukur Guliyev represented the ESRI at the event.

Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development, Ali Ahmadov, Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov and Head of the UNHCR Representative Office in Azerbaijan, Bik Lum spoke of Heydar Aliyev’s exclusive services in the global integration of Azerbaijan and the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the UN.

Other speakers at the event, namely, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Bahar Muradova, members of the parliament, Ziyad Samadzada and Mazahir Afandiyev, rector of the Academy of Public Administration, Urkhan Alakbarov, Head of Country Office at the United Nation’s Population Fund, Farid Babayev spoke of the start of economic progress and application of market economy principles, the reforms carried out for the development and improvement of the non-oil sector, industry, social infrastructure and legislation, promotion of human rights and gender equality in Azerbaijan based on the rich economic knowledge and experience of Heydar Aliyev.

During the event a film on the works carried out and speeches presented in respect to the development of Azerbaijan – UN ties was demonstrated.
